Yunomi - Trout e-tsuke

CA$40.00
Sold Out

This Japanese style teacup (yunomi) is decorated with hand painted trout pattern.

E-tuske means a painted decoration such as underglaze or overglaze work. In this case the pattern is done in cobalt underglaze.

The bow river area of Calgary is home to various freshwater fish and trout. One of my aims as a potter is to incorporate local natural and seasonal motifs into my work.

Yunomi traditionally have no handle. To keep yourself from burning your fingers, only fill the teacup 3/4 full and hold the teacup using the footring on the bottom.

Made from iron rich clay from western Canada.
