Yunomi - Hakeme

This Japanese style teacup (yunomi) is decorated with Hakeme (brush strokes).

Brush strokes are a common decoration on Japanese ceramics as they are reminiscent of calligraphy and reminds the viewer of the hand,Ade nature of the product.

Yunomi traditionally have no handle. To keep yourself from burning your fingers, only fill the teacup 3/4 full and hold the teacup using the footring on the bottom.

Made from iron rich clay from western Canada.
